Description
Ikusi by Fagor FLOW-BASE Intelligent Chassis & Backpanel (Ref. 4312) – Hybrid RF + IP Headend Platform
The FLOW BASE is the intelligent hybrid Ethernet/RF backpanel chassis that forms the physical and electrical foundation of the entire FLOW headend platform. Far more than a passive enclosure, the FLOW BASE actively manages RF signal routing, power distribution, LNB powering, and module hot-swap functionality — all through a unique backpanel architecture that combines RF and Ethernet connectivity in a single unified structure. Its modular design and tool-free installation make it equally at home in a 19" rack or wall-mount environment.
Key Features:
- Hybrid Ethernet/RF backpanel — Uniquely combines RF signal routing and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity on a single backpanel, providing all FLOW modules with both RF access and network communication through one unified interface.
- Integrated RF combiner & amplifier — Combines and amplifies RF carriers from all installed FLOW OUT modules into a single output (47–862 MHz), with adjustable output level from 78 to 108 dBμV and ±1 dB stability for consistent, broadcast-grade signal distribution.
- Integrated multiswitch — Automatically routes satellite signals from up to 8 satellite inputs (950–2150 MHz) to whichever modules require them, eliminating the need for external multiswitches in most installations.
- Flexible RF inputs — Accepts 2 terrestrial/cable inputs (47–862 MHz, 40–90 dBμV) and up to 8 satellite inputs (950–2150 MHz, 40–98 dBμV), all via universal 75Ω F-type connectors for straightforward connection to premises cabling.
- Universal & Quattro LNB powering — Powers Universal LNBs on SAT1 & SAT2 inputs (13V/18V selectable, 22 kHz tone selectable, up to 300 mA each) and Quattro LNBs on SAT3–SAT8 inputs (12 VDC, up to 600 mA total) — no external power injectors required.
- Preamplifier powering — Supplies 12 V or 24 VDC (adjustable, up to 100 mA) on terrestrial/cable inputs TV1 & TV2 to power inline preamplifiers directly from the chassis.
- Hot-swap module support — Enables FLOW modules to be inserted or removed from the chassis without powering down the system, minimising service interruption during maintenance or upgrades.
- High RF output quality — Spurious signal suppression better than -60 dBc in-band and broadband noise below -65 dBc (Δ5 MHz), with a -30 dB test output port for signal monitoring without interrupting distribution.
- Tool-free rack or wall installation — Lightweight yet robust construction (3.8 kg) supports both 19" rack mounting and wall-fixing without tools, with all 12 F-type RF connectors accessible from the backpanel for clean cable management.
- Low power consumption — Operates at just 10 W at 24 VDC across a 0°C to +45°C temperature range, keeping total headend power draw to a minimum.
Why Choose the FLOW-BASE?
The FLOW-BASE is much more than a simple chassis — it is a smart, integrated platform that simplifies complex headend installations. Its built-in multiswitch, powerful RF combining, and centralized power management drastically reduce cabling complexity and installation time while delivering broadcast-grade signal quality. Whether building a small 4-tuner system or a large multi-module headend with dozens of services, the FLOW-BASE provides the reliability and flexibility professional integrators demand.
